About the Yew Trail
Situated in Ulverscroft near Markfield and less than 10 miles from the centre of Leicester, Yew Trail offers a secluded, safe area of private woodland, where children of all ages, abilities and diverse ethnic and social backgrounds can explore, enjoy and experience the natural world through practical involvement.
The Foundation in conjunction with its advisors has completed a full risk assessment and environmental impact study for the Yew Trail and surrounding grounds and operates an ongoing safety management system for the site. There is on site parking for coaches and minibuses plus toilet facilities suitable for people with disabilities.
Although the colour coded pathways of the Yew Trail are not suitable for those with mobility and sight disabilities there are throughout the grounds a series of wheelchair friendly pathways that provide access to the pond area, bird hide and stunning views of the surrounding countryside.
Yew Trail offers a world of discovery and the opportunity to inspire the young people of today. If you wish to make a booking, discuss the site, facilities or any aspect of your visit to the Yew Trail, please contact the Foundation on:
