Santa Claus visits Markfield

Santa visited Markfied to raise funds for unique Leicestershire charity the Shuttlewood Clarke Foundation.

Santa visited Markfield to raise funds for unique Leicestershire charity the Shuttlewood Clarke Foundation.

Santa Claus came to town with 2 special trips to Markfield on Monday 7th & Wednesday 9th December 2009 raising over £200 towards the wonderful work of the Shuttlewood Clarke Foundation; a registered charity that provides support, care and friendship to the elderly, adults of all ages with disabilities and young people.
Many thanks to the people of Markfield for their generous support and Santa looks forward to seeing everyone again at Ulverscroft Manor, Priory Lane, Ulverscroft on Monday 21st December when he will be making another special appearance at 2.00pm at the Foundation’s Christmas Fair which runs from 10am -3pm.

To celebrate 20 years of support, care and friendship, to look forward to another 20 years of support for the people of Leicestershire and to raise in excess of £20,000 the Shuttlewood Clarke Foundation has launched its ‘20 Plus Appeal’

 From its humble beginnings in 1989 as the dream of one man, the late  David Clarke, to 2009 when we welcomed our 100,000 visitor and launched the Yew Trail outdoor classroom the Foundation has gone from strength to strength. Working with our dedicated team of 18 staff and over 120 wonderful, loyal volunteers this unique Leicestershire Charity is looking forward to the next 20 years.
